The General Directorate of Books, Archives and Libraries (DGLAB) decided to award the National Illustration Prize for works published in 2021, to Ana Ventura, for the set of illustrations from the book "Mudar", a book without text, published by Pato Lógico.
Special Mentions were also awarded to António Jorge Gonçalves for the illustrations of the work "Desenhar do Escuro", author's edition; and Mariana Rio, for the illustrations of the work "Diosario", with text by Elena Fernandez Ferro, published by Mónimo, from Peru.
65 works by 56 illustrators, published by 31 publishers and 13 different entities, and 3 author editions competed for this 26th edition of the National Illustration Prize.
The jury was made up of José Teófilo Duarte, Dora Batalim Sottomayor and Ana Marta Araújo.
The National Illustration Prize was created in 1996 and awarded by the Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries.
