A masterpiece of 16th century Portuguese architecture, classified as a National Monument and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos is located in one of the most qualified areas of Lisbon, a historic and monumental setting along the Tagus, where the Torre de Belém and the Centro Cultural de Belém also represent a strong presence.
Symbolically linked to the most important moments of national memory, the monastic ensemble founded by King D. Manuel I still preserves, in addition to the church, much of the magnificent conventual facilities that contributed to its international fame, including the 16th century cloister, the old Friars' refectory and the Library room.
