Casa-Museu Dr. Anastácio Gonçalves

The Casa-Museu Dr. Anastácio Gonçalves is a small Art museum, located next to Saldanha in the heart of the city of Lisbon. Designed by the architect Norte Júnior, the building was built in 1904 by the painter José Malhoa for his home and work studio, having received Valmor Prize the following year. It was acquired in 1932 by the ophthalmologist Anastácio Gonçalves for his residence and future museum. There he gathered a collection of around 2500 pieces, highlighting three main collections: Portuguese naturalist painting, Chinese porcelain, and European furniture from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
