Casa das Artes

| Architecture

Designed in 1981 by Architect Souto Moura, Casa das Artes was built between 1988 and 1991 in the gardens of Allen's house, and was awarded the Secil Prize. The building is the first work of great notoriety by Architect Eduardo Souto Moura. A silent and discreet work, rich in references to modern masters and to the tradition of local forms and materials, it is almost invisible alongside the work of Marques da Silva (1869-1947) and builds one of the limits of the singular garden.
