Located in the parish of Raposeira-Vila do Bispo, it was built in the 15th century, after the generalization in Portugal of the cult of the black virgin of Guadalupe. The building built in sandstone of the region was located in a border area - both of the Kingdom and of Christianity - devastated by Muslim Pirates, and is linked to the rescue of captives, which explains its unusual symbolic decoration. In the chancel, all the columns, as well as the vault keys, have a carved decoration with plant motifs, human masks and other attributes.
