Ana Mesquita, João Gil and Mia Couto are guest artists at the XXII Cerveira International Art Biennial, which will return from July 16 to December 31 at 'Vila das Artes'. The artistic project “Travel through Oblivion” will invite the public to travel through the most delicate facets of history, using video art, music and poetry.

In a meeting between three different forms of art – video art by Ana Mesquita, music by João Gil and poetry by Mia Couto – the work “Viagem Pelo Esquecimento” follows the steps of our human footprint.

It is a triptych film, divided into 12 themes, which invites the audience to travel through the most delicate facets of History, in a constant appeal to the memory of what we were as Humanity, in relation to women, slaves, ancestors, migrants. , the Planet, the Cities, Life and Love.

It is worth remembering that the Cerveira International Art Biennial celebrates its 44th anniversary under the theme “ WE MUST TAKE ACTION / WE MUST ACT ”. The event is part of the application “Fundação Bienal de Arte de Cerveira: Contemporary Art integrated in society and in the world” (2020 – 2021 – Sustained Support – Visual Arts), which has the support of the Portuguese Republic – Culture / Directorate-General for Art.
